Summary

Promote the school’s Mission, Beliefs, and Graduate Profile; can oversee all school interactions with the various Ministries in Saudi Arabia; and contribute to the administrative dialogue and supervision of learning and teaching throughout the school.

Job Duties

  1. Actively promote and live the IPS Mission, Beliefs, and Graduate Profile.
  2. Manage all relationships with MoE.

  3. Lead IPS’ efforts to recruit and train qualified Saudi educators in American style education to include (but not limited to):  backwards by design and concept based curriculum; Whole Child education; adaptations for special needs; and research based ‘best practices’ for educators

  4. Supervise academic programs and teachers of the national subjects department

  5. Contribute to all matters related to accreditation and program authorization.

  6. Participate in the student council

  7. Participate in the proposal of non-curricular activities.

  8. Ensure the security and safety of the school in terms of buildings.

  9. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  1. Master’s degree or higher, with educational training in school administration, curriculum, and instruction.

  2. Direct experience successfully working with all Saudi ministries that interact with schools similar to IPS.

  3. Leadership experience with or in international schools, ideally those with a US curriculum orientation.

Experience and Skills

  1. Knowledge of  programs such as IB, AP, IPC, as well as national programs from English speaking countries.

  2. Experience in concept based and backwards by design curriculum/organizational design and development.

  3. Varied teaching experience.

  4. Knowledge of or experience with school accreditation.

  5. Clear and concise writing and communication ability in both English and Arabic

  6. Good communication skills and able to make presentations comfortably.

  7. Good interpersonal skills to work with faculty and administration.

  8. Independent working habits.

  9. Ability to analyze and synthesize.

  10. Strong organizational skills.

  11. A positive, cooperative attitude, creativity and resourcefulness.
